  1. Vacation! VACATION! Er, life is a vacation. Right?
I took a three-day weekend last weekend to play in the red rocks of the Moab area. I ran the 50k at the Slickrock races. It was a crazyfun weekend spent in the desert with old friends, new friends, sun, rain, mud, sand, a gigantic Great Dane named Scooby, bonus running miles, and course re-routes because of a “quicksand situation” that involved the full-on sinking of a jeep (This is true!), and good, old-fashioned good times.
I took this photo while hanging out at the Gold Bar Aid Station (I think this was its name.) on Saturday afternoon and night, waiting to cheer my friends running the 100-mile race. Props to everyone who pushed themselves out there last weekend!
There’s more! Tomorrow I head to the Smoky Mountains for a seven-day backpacking trip. I cannot wait to go deep into a mountain range I’ve not yet visited. See you on the other side of awesome.

  2. Oh lordy, I don’t know this guy, but something about this blog piece makes me think I very much would.

If you’ve ever had to put a Big One down in the Big Outdoors, you’ll enjoy this.

  3. I’m back from my last adventure, backpacking the Highline Trail in Utah’s Uinta Mountains.
Here’s a photo my traveling companion, Danielle Coffman, took of me just before sunrise as we descended into Deadhorse Basin.
Hella’ pretty, no? Now, go git’ your own adventure, pretty please?

  4. I’m on vacation (Well, isn’t life supposed to be a vacation?).
I was in the Alps for two weeks (Here’s a photo I took to show you how awesome it was.).
Then I was home for 2.5 days (It’s been crazy. The heap of laundry was waist high.).
Now I’m headed out on a backpacking trip (See you when I come back next week!).
